False Bay – KZN Wildlife

The False Bay resort is situated along the western shores of the False Bay section of iSimangaliso Wetland Park’s Lake St Lucia. Containing important marine fossils of both animals and coral, the reserve also has a variety of habitats such as sand forests, thornveld and an open savannah.

This variety provides excellent bird watching and game viewing and two self-guided trails have been established for visitors to enjoy these activities. Other popular activities are boating and fishing. Accommodation is provided in campsites along the shoreline overlooking the Lake. They are situated both north and south of Lister point.

Dungandlovu Rustic Camp has four huts each equipped with four beds. Basic comforts include good drinking water, firewood and a deep freeze, but no bedding is provided. The viewing platform on the lake side of the camp at sunset commands magnificent views of the iSimangaliso Wetland Park.
