Applications for permits for the use of vehicles in the coastal zone

The Minister of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment as the competent authority in terms of the National Environmental Management: Integrated Coastal Management Act (Act 24 of 2008) and the associated Regulations for the Use of Vehicle in the Coastal Area (ORV Regulations) (GNR 496 of 2014) has delegated to the

iSimangaliso Wetland Park Authority the following functions contained within GNR 496 of 2014:

  • Regulation 4: Issuing of permits (excluding the power to issue permits in terms of Regulation 4 (a) of the ORV Regulations
  • Regulation 5: Assessment of impact
  • Regulation 6: Consideration of applications; and
  • Regulation 8: Suspension, amendment and cancellation
