Gate Tariffs and Activity Permits price increase
11 November 2022
iSimangaliso Wetland Park Authority would like to inform the public about the annual price increase of gate tariffs and activity permits effective from 01 December 2022. Due to the devastating Covid-19 pandemic which resulted in the slow growth of our domestic and global economy particularly after and the ban on international travel due to lockdown, iSimangaliso has not increased its tariffs from 2020 to date.
With Tourism now recovering and the need to generate revenue iSimangaliso will be increasing the tariffs for gates by approximately 8%. New fees for international visitors will also be introduced as of 01 December 2022. Based on prevailing market conditions activity permits will also be increased as of 01 December 2022.
The Park in its consolidated form consists of Maphelane, Lake St Lucia, Cape Vidal, the Eastern and Western Shores, False Bay, uMkhuze, Lake Sibaya, Sodwana Bay, The Coastal Forest Reserve, all the above parcels have different activities and gate access which are managed by iSimangaliso and generate its income from such activities. iSimangaliso Wetland Park was inscribed as UNESCO South Africa's first World Heritage Site (WHS) in December 1999 as an area of exceptional and outstanding universal heritage significance.
