Visitors to the iSimangaliso Wetland Park have so much to choose from in this miraculous natural playground. Our various beach spots are ready to welcome the influx of bathers and snorkelers alike. Scuba diving is available to the public at the world-renowned Sodwana Bay section of the Park, as well as guests of Thonga Beach Lodge further north in the Coastal Forest Reserve section. All that one needs in order to enjoy a fantastic spectacle of undersea life is a snorkel and mask, and a day trip to one of many small bays along the coast like Mabibi, Black Rock, Lala Nek, Kosi Bay mouth, Cape Vidal or Perries Rocks
The other ocean-related experiences for which iSimangaliso is internationally known and operational this season is turtle tours taking place in November to March annually. Make time to experience this spectacular and spiritual ritual. iSimangaliso is ready to dazzle you with its superlative natural beauty and diverse offering.
The safety of our visitors is our number one priority The park consider the safety of the visitors very seriously, hence the security officers are deployed across the park and at all beaches entrance and exit points to ensure that visitors are safe at all time. Security officers are conducting patrols and strip search to curb some other visitors who may want to get inside the Park with prohibited items like alcohol, firearms, drones etc. Roadblocks that are conducted on public holidays aim to ensure the safe and security of visitors who come in numbers to visit the iSimangaliso.
There is no more need for long queues at our park gates. iSimangaliso has implemented an online booking system. Simply scan the QR code, select gate to the section of the park and state the date on which you wwould like to visit and the system will prompt you further. On arrival at the Park gate of choice, just produce the system-generated permit at the boom gate and drive through . The system is efficient, safe, secure and time-saving.
