iSIMANGALISO WETLAND PARK 2024-2025 GATE FEES ADJUSTMENTS

13 December 2024
It is that time of the year for iSimangaliso Wetland Park Authority’s annual gate fees review. The good news is that the Board of iSimangaliso has approved the recommendation to keep the fees unchanged at the gates for domestic visitors, and minor adjustment for international visitors in keeping with the exchange rate. This was a unanimous decision to stall prices, as the Board believes that in order to maintain sustainable tourism, it is important to consider the economic state of our country and how this affects the tourists that iSimangaliso seeks to attract not only this festive season but year-round as well. It is the mission of the Board to ensure that iSimangaliso Wetland Park remains accessible to all, especially the previously disadvantaged local communities living adjacent to the Park. In the previous financial year (2023/2024) gates fees were increased by 5% only.
As a testimony to good governance, iSimangaliso has obtained a clean audit opinion from the Auditor General of South Africa again in 2024, this is for the second year in a row. “It remains important to keep iSimangaliso Wetland Park a national treasure but also ensure that it is affordable to all” said the Chief Executive Officer of iSimangaliso Wetland Park Authority, Mr Sibusiso Bukhosini.
