iSimangaliso Wetland Park is South Africa’s first World Heritage site – accredited by UNESCO in 1999 – and is the second largest park in South Africa, after the Kruger National Park. iSimangaliso’s mission is to protect, preserve and present its World Heritage Values for current and future generations, whilst at the same time benefiting communities living in, and adjacent to, the Park, by facilitating optimal tourism and related development

The investment summit was supposed to take place in August 2021, but had to be postponed due to COVID-19 restrictions globally, and the civil unrest which affected KwaZulu-Natal and Gauteng provinces. Announcing the postponement of the summit at that time, the iSimangaliso CEO promised investors who had already expressed interest that “preparatory work and planning will continue, and more efforts will be put to ensure that the summit is an even bigger success.” Indeed plans are on course to stage a world class summit.
