iSimangaliso Wetland Park Authority, a renowned World Heritage Park where conservation, sustainable tourism and benefit sharing prevails, is looking for an experienced Supply Chain Management Officer.

Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, the successful candidate will efficiently coordinate the procurement of goods and services in line with business requirements to achieve iSimangaliso’ s strategic objectives.

Requirements for the Job

Minimum qualifications: National Diploma in Supply Chain Management (NQF 6)

or equivalent; 2 – 3 years’ experience in supply chain management; 3 years’ experience working in a similar environment; knowledge of Microsoft Office: Excel, MS Word, Power Point, knowledge of Pastel and Sage Evolution and valid driver’s license. Experience in the Public Sector will be an added advantage.

Key Performance Areas:

Procurement of Goods and Services:  Receives authorised purchase requisitions with the relevant budget attached; Accurately select suitable suppliers from quotations received; Places a request for quotations from the identified Suppliers on the database on a rotational basis; Timeously requests quotations and submits to Managers to select the most suitable Supplier; In cases of Suppliers not being on database / capacity to provide resource required, sources relevant Suppliers; Notifies Suppliers on selection and liaises with Suppliers to determine the timeframe for delivery of the goods and /or services; Effectively and timeously communicates the status of the orders with the Managers; Adheres to applicable policies, procedures and legislation in the procuring of goods and services; Procures goods and services within the allocated time frame; Monitors the delivery of goods and/or services and follows up with the suppliers; Assists in resolving issues that may arise in relation to goods and services to be delivered; Verifies the correct goods have been delivered as per the request; Receives invoices following delivery and submits for payment with supporting documentation upon authorisation from Managers; Follows up internally to ensure that payments are affected in order to close requests.
